big bad lindz
A bill to allow the partial docking of working dogs tails has been passed through the Scottish parliament You will know that I am not a lover of the SNP but I am glad this has been passed although it will be restricted to a 1/3 of the tail and only to potential working spaniels & pointers. Its not a nice sight seeing a spaniel with a badly damaged tail as I am sure a lot of you may have seen. So a bit of a small victory. (but I still dont like the snp)
Andra
Common sense prevails in the end! Not many parties to like these days tbh
Bazooka Joe
although it will be restricted to a 1/3 of the tail If the dog is to be docked, just dock it the right length first time, why just a third...

Mice!
Is it not normally the tip that gets damaged on the tail, I would have thought that a third is much better than none? I'm not anti docking before anyone says I have a gsp, had a gwp and would prefer a third than nothing.
WGD
A third is plenty, and I wouldn't give the SNP the credit - BASC, SGA, SACS and many individuals have lobbied for over ten years to get to this point.

All the more reason to dock to a acceptable length, if it's going to be cut just do it the once... Ludicrous to only dock a third...
