gibby
I think you have the american, just the heavy barrel version. Mine's the same. Gibby
dunganick
I think you will probably have American stamped on your action as well. It is not uncommon for this to happen. The ways to tell: Varmint has a matt type blue on the barrel Varmint has a bead blasted type of finish on the action (dont oil this, it will turn purple if your not careful) Varmint has no chequering on the forend Obviously varmint has a heavy barrel
al4x
I think you have the american, just the heavy barrel version. Mine's the same. Gibby same here, so the heavy barrel isn't always the varmint

dunganick
I think you have the american, just the heavy barrel version. Mine's the same. Gibby same here, so the heavy barrel isn't always the varmint there are only two variants of this style gun (other than the classic and style) 1: American 2: Varmint The Varmint just often has American printed on the action, as they are very similar guns, just a few subtle differences. If you have a heavy barrel and no chequering on the forend you have a varmint.
