dougall
Nope stated they are safe to use. apologised that I felt I had to email but no replacement offers.I was going to take them back to the shop where I bought them but they have little to replace them with that I would want and as LE say they are safe I shall use them up. I shall not touch a LE product again though.
rbrowning2
Think I would want an independent opion, why not phone the proof house or email them and send them the photo? Certainly not normal for part of the case to separate and it surely has the potential to increase the pressure within the forcing cone the question is does it and if so by how much. If LE has loaded a large batch then it is in their financial interest to be happy to take the risk as a recall would be expensive but are you happy to take their word or the risk without a quick chat with the proof house? Or ask LE how many have they tested when the case fails and what the pressure is when part of the case travels with the shot/wad if they don't know then how do they know they are safe? Smokersmith
You're right about a high cost of recall .... but they would have to balance this against the cost of several dead shooters, and I reckon they want to be on the right side of that equation. I.e. Knowingly releasing fatal ammo would be the end of them ...
TIGHTCHOKE
Personally I would accept Lyalvale Express's word that they are "safe to use." What I would be very unhappy about is the matter of an expensive and supposedly premium product is not really very good. I doubt the pattern of pellets will be helped by much of the front of the case leaving with the pellets and getting in the way. matone
Get a grip folks....split cases were a regular occurence when paper cases were more common, nothing happens ! Guns can stand great over pressures with no ill effect anyway.
rbrowning2
Good posts but whilst they may not cause any harm why should we put up with the problem? These Cartridges are not cheap and if it was any other goods we would return them to the shop as not fit for purpose.
