washerboy
I have a 10 yr old whippet and he was easy enough to train, I did all the basics in my yard. Sit, stay , lie down etc. The main thing I find with running dogs is you must get them to come to hand in doors or in your garden before you venture out into the fields. The first thing then I would do is stock break him/her . They naturally want to chase anything that moves .

Once Oates had gone, he had gone. Now he's pretty good. He basically understands that when his leash is on he has to wait. Once it's off, he can give chase. Only thing I would have perhaps changed is had a cross with a thicker skin and more fur. He nicks himself all the time which can be a right pain.
