Stimo22
Thinking of getting a air pistol as used to shoot small bore targets some years ago. Need some ideas as to best full power pistols available, and would these be PCP or Spring
Stonepark
Most target air pistol run about 4ftlbs, if you are looking for a full power one whether hunting. Or target- pump up or pcp is the way to go, if for fun, spring or co2 are fine.
Ultrastu
Have to agree with stone park . Most spring pistols are about 3-4 fpe although the hw 45 is around 5 fpe. Problem with high power springers is they are very hard to shoot accurately . I have a webley tempest in .177 that does about 3 fpe and its great out to about 10 yds. I'd go pcp if your serious but dont discount the crosman 2240 pistol although its only .22 and co2 it packs a punch at about 5 fpe great for close range rats of pigeon dispatch (what I use mine for ) I think there is a .177 version too but its more expensive . If you are just wanting to punch paper then a single stoke pnuematic are very accurate . Hw 40 (and there much cheaper clones ) hw70 or a gamo compact pistol . Top of the tree would be the webley alecto /zoraki .multipump pistol 5.5 fpe
Good shot?
I know little about air pistols but have used a webley alecto and it was good fun and very accurate with a red dot site fitted.
