johncrow
Hi everybody just aquired a browning twelvette and was wondering if anyone has the adapter to enable it to fire shorter cartridges either for sale or perhaps to take some photos of so I can have one made. While I am on the subject has anyone got a copy of the manual showing the friction brake and spring assembly. theshootist
I didn't even know you could get such an adaptor! I took my Double Auto (the version with the steel rather than alu receiver) out clayshooting recently. Such an odd firing cycle! They are very well made and interesting guns. snarepeg
Love mine. Steel version skeet choke. Yes there is a way to cycle 65 mm cartridges but don't know who supplies them. I put the65 into the chamber and follow with a 67 or70 mm. Mine cycles on 67mm no problem
McSpredder
Stuart Rankine is a gunsmith with a great deal of knowledge about Browning 2-shot autos. http://gunrepairs.co.uk/

fronty61
Welcome to the Double auto club ! My `66 ally receiver Twelvette came with a white adhesive spacer pad stuck to the back ( pusher) face of the shell lifter, to fill the gap, place the shell slightly farther forward as I load it..mod by previous owner seems to work fine using 65/67 and 70 mm ammo with no problem ! The gun is a joy to use, 25 inch barrel with choke extension included, get it set up and leave alone ! As the user manual ( easy download on line from several forums ) says..don`t over lube !!! There is a trick to remove the barrel for cleaning, just rest muzzle on carpet , apply gentle pressure, and feel the double click as you press the release. Just watch out for cracks in forend or stock..need prompt attention as replacements from U.S. are not easy to get without a friend over there ! I use 28 grm for clays, and most game, 32 grm for duck etc. out of respect for it`s age. The slight `shuffle` as it cycles is part of the fun..Val Browning did a great job, producing a usable and affordable classic ...
ZG47
Someone on here did but up a scanned version of the manual, maybe three years back. Type double auto into the search box and you should locate that thread easily enough.
