BrowningDJC
Would like to have a bit of a go with a 410 being purchased for my sons. Its not a gauge I have used before and I accept its limitations, looking for any 410 enthusiasts opinions on loads and chokes for ranges up to about 25 yards. Ive heard good things about the new hull high pheasant load as also mentioned in another post.
motty
Ideal load for 25 yards is 14gm of 7.5 through IC. Pretty much any combination will work at that range, though.
Stonepark
Max choke i would recommend is 15 thou, i. E. Nominal 0.395 at the muzzle. With 3 inch, 18g no7 is as big as you want to go but no7.5 is better, 2.5 inch, no 7.5 or no8 and 2 inch no 9.

BrowningDJC
Will be used for game shooting on a small shoot. As we are restricted to fibre wads i can only find the eley 3 inch 18 gram 7s
Stonepark
If buying the eley 7's is what i get.
motty
Yep. 7 or 7.5 will kill any pheasant at 25 yards.
