Topgunners
We went out nice and early yesterday and set up on a field of "Euro bird seed mix" that had been cut recently. The boys in one hide and Myself and Alan in another. We set out two deek patterns each. 1 for pigeons and 1 for blackies. The boys started shooting from the off and after a couple of hours were getting regular shots and we were getting nowt much. Alan decided to go having a look around and shortly after came back and said he had found some pigeons on the clover. So we picked up and counted 10 blackies and 4 pigeons and went round to the boys and they had shot 40 blackies and 21 pigeons for 61 birds and shot 75 cartridges. Top shooting from Alex and "Lugs". We then drove to the Farm with the clover on and by 13.00pm myself and Alan had shot 32 of them and had done 3 x double-deckers and a 4 x decker. What a peach that was. 4 pigeons coming straight in to the deeks and then arcing right and flying straight past us right to left. I took the 2 front ones and Alan took the 2 rear birds BANG! BANG!BANG! BANG!. 4 dead birds. I unfortunately had to go to a barbecue with the family and was gutted as the birds were coming in like a "shooter's dream". Over the top of a distant wood about 700 yards away and then kite-ing down and straight in to the deeks. Wind direction left to right across the hide. I left them to carry on and by 17.00pm they packed up and had shot a further 101 pigeons (Al 67 the boys 34) 2 more double-deckers for Alan. Scores for the day. The boys 40 blackies & 65 pigeons Total 105 Me & Alan 10 blackies & 103 pigeons Total 113 218 Birds for the day Dave K ooops and also 2 x Burgers, 3 x spare ribs, 2 chicken breasts,2 x sausages, salad and 3 beers. followed by chocolate eclairs and ice cheesecake. mmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!
