The loudest part of any shot with my Marlin is the bullet strike. There is a click from the pin going forward but thats about it. My .22 S200 has a moderator fitted and is also extremely quiet. I would have assumed a .25 FAC with a suitable mod would be the same ..... is the pellet sub sonic
Ultrastu
Yes the pellet is sub sonic .around 880 -900 fps . I always think of the speed of sound as 1111 fps . It actually varies with altitude and air density etc .but can be as low as 1080 fps and as high as 1200 .depends on wind direction too . This is why .22 lr subs run around 1050 fps .ie just under. .but some often just go super sonic with a loud crack as they sneek over with a bit more powder in the case . Ps my .25 is quiet enough not to need an additional mod on the shroud .
