turbo33
The Maggies are back patrolling the hedges in my garden I have a larsen and have caught quite a few each year, which is great news, clearly made a difference judging by the amount of little tweeters about. I haven't access to a call bird yet, so can I have some advice on the most irresistible bait to pop in the Larsen? They're a bit canny at the moment, so ideas would be great! Many thanks T33
scotslad
Is a fake nest with eggs not the standard early season bait? as that will be wot their looking for, have even heard of keepers targeting ponds/wetland areas early doorsas mallards are usually early nesters so magpies know this. Walker570
Anyone who has a magie to spare near Stamford, Lincs give me a shout. Found a bunch of pheasant egg shells this afternoon, so looks like I have an interloper or two as well. I have had success with four or five golf balls in a bit of dry grass as a nest before now. decoy1979
Dog or cat food has been known to work or rabbit/squirrel slit open with guts on show. Nest of eggs, sometimes break one outside or on top of Larsen to give them a taster and encourage them in.
