welshwarrior
How hard is it to change a barrel on a BSA Scorpion? I could do it with ease on a bolt action rifle but never really played with air rifles.
Ultrastu
Its a pretty complicated operation that requires a lot of stripping .basically the 2 screws that hold it in place are on the underside of the breech block . Ive done a couple but its not something that takes 10 mins. Id say its about a 40 min job .when u know what your doing . Why do you want to change it .? Are you swapping it for a longer/shorter one .or thinking of a cal change. ?

Ultrastu
Yeah you have to take most of that apart.
Guest
The barrel is usually the best bit in a BSA. Why change it?
Mice!
Different forum folk were talking about buying bsa Goldstars just because they wanted the barrels, apparently in demand.
welshwarrior
I can get the rifle very cheap but it’s a .25 and the barrel is rusted mostly on the muzzle end and has already been shortened. I’ll replace it with another bsa one in .22.
Ultrastu
There are a load of other bits that also need changing too .pellet probe ,orings magazine ,transfer port etc etc .

Ultrastu
I dont think there is much demand for sub 12 .25 . Most gun shops i know wont order in any .25 cals as they just sit on the shelf unloved. Im not a fan either. I think .22 is much better at 11 fpe personally. welshwarrior
My view is I know 22s never had a 25 it’s harder to get pellets etc. So 22 running at 11.6 like my lads Ultra JRS will be spot on for my needs and father son time.
