Lampwick
Hi folks, I'm looking for some help regarding my Renault Grand Scenic and its forthcoming disc and pad change. The car has an electronic handbrake system which has me concerned. My question is do I need any special tools to carry out the disc and pad change? I don't want to get "X" into the process and find I'm beggered!!! Cheers
hodge911
be careful brakes are only to be tackled if you are 100% sure you know what you are doing ............ I have seen really stupid mistakes such as 2 pads on the same side of disc , pads in the wrong way round I,m not sure on your car but some electronic handbrake systems need to be wound back via electronic tools such as snapon solius ect try youtube for specific help

Gordon R
I would be Goggling to see if you can get away without having the Code Reader tool. I did my lads Mercedes GLE, which has an electronic handbrake and normally requires a code reader to retract the handbrake, on the caliper. A friend in the trade talked him through the procedure - using entertainment controls from memory. Edited May 29, 2018 by Gordon R
walshie
Be very careful with electric brakes. I've read horror stories of missing fingers.
