SGC renewal conundrum

Recommended Posts

since sending off my SGC renewal to North Yorks police I’ve bought 2 guns and sold 1. All notifications on acquisition/ disposal were sent promptly. On receiving my renewed SGC today (no visit or other contact from the police during renewal process) the table 1 of shotguns possessed is incorrect and I clearly can’t complete table 2 to rectify this.

My old SGC doesn’t expire for a couple of weeks but once my new licence comes into force it’ll look like I’ve 2 guns that aren’t on my licence. Is it just a case of contacting the licensing team to rectify or is there a simpler way to sort?

In hindsight I could have sent a copy of my old licence with my renewal but that wasn’t specifically requested as part of the renewal info...

any thoughts pls on the best way to sort this?

thanks

near renewals i never buy or sell a gun.because things can get mixed up.

But this really should not prevent you buying or selling at whatever time you choose. As said above, It's a timing thing and can be easily sorted by communicating, either by phone or better still by email as an automated response of receipt is normally given, so accurate records can be kept.

By way of update, had a chat with the police on Friday, they were very helpful and said they’d send out a revised ticket and then for me to send back the incorrct one.

Also from posting my renewal to receiving renewed ticket was less than 7 weeks which sounds pretty decent in the scheme of things!
