Boristhedog
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-44672893 This BBC story states a man driving a car was stopped by the Met for not displaying car insurance. I hadn’t realised we had to display evidence of insurance. Do we? Edited July 1, 2018 by Boristhedog Spelling

Cranfield
If you mean that story about George the Poet , there doesn't seem to be any reference to displaying car insurance. The Police state they checked the reg number on the database and it came up uninsured, but good old George produced valid Ins docs and all was well. They had to handcuff and search him with a name like that, it would have been irresponsible not to have done.? Boristhedog
‘The Metropolitan Police said officers stopped the artist for not displaying car insurance, and that the search was conducted "correctly".’ From the BBC story.

Must be correct then, rather than "not having insurance shown on the pnc" ans tbr bbc miss quoting them on a slow news day. Thank heavens the bbc is there to point out the truth again eh. Cranfield
Depends which bit you read. " The Met said officers checked the car's number plate on the national police database, which listed it as uninsured". I agree it also read " The Metropolitan Police said officers stopped the artist for not displaying car insurance, and that the search was conducted "correctly". Vince Green
A lot of young men have motor trader insurance, especially if they drive big flash cars. That wont show up on PNC
