flash
just wondering what sought of price i should advertise my suzuki jimny, 2007.JLX with 3000 on the clock. one owner from new, red. never been off road. selling because im too scared to get it messy( need to shove all my tools for my course in the boot, but dont want to get it mucky, and not exactly spacious enough for a shovel etc.) selling to fund a land rover defender. any ideas of what sought of price to sell it for. cheers tom
al4x
look on autotrader to get a guide, I've just looked and theres an 07 JLX with 90 miles on the clock near me for £8500 and thats from a dealer.
BSA Shaun
Now then fella. I take it this is the 1.3 VVT JLX? From that with 10K on the clock it would be worth private sale in good cond £6715 However with only 3K on the clock, bit of math: £100 per 1K = £700 so I would say around £7400
flash
kk, was hoping for a bit more, but thats a fair enough price. prob put a bigger price on it with offers taken. you never know whos out there. cheers tom
BSA Shaun
No worries will take it off your hand for my beautiful Disco with near on 208K on the clock and a packet of wine gums, just the black and red ones tho.
al4x
flash its the problems with cars particularly new ones they depreciate the moment you walk out of the showroom. Unless you are prepared to take the hit on them then the best way is to keep it for a while. Could you get a good liner for the boot etc as yours will be far better than a landrover in nearly every way.
SNAKEBITE
as yours will be far better than a landrover in nearly every way. You can't go saying things like that
Mungler
Flash, how did you end up buying a new jimny? I never had you down as a jimny sort of chap. Mind you, I would have never have guessed that Pin had a girlfriend or wife (and a real one at that - not a girlfriend or wife in the "prison" sense). al4x
well it'll go anywhere a landrover will, economy is probably twice as good, reliability now thats going to be infinitely better so the only thing going for the Landie is the fact he won't mind denting it or getting in in muddy boots

Andy W
I have a Mercedes 4 x 4 and i use a bootliner and rubber mats over the carpets, if the inside gets dirty the wife moans, I purchased the car knowing full well it would at times end up as dirty as my van and I have used it off road as well, use it and enjoy it, it isnt worth so much now. flash
Flash, how did you end up buying a new jimny? I never had you down as a jimny sort of chap. Mind you, I would have never have guessed that Pin had a girlfriend or wife (and a real one at that - not a girlfriend or wife in the "prison" sense). only reason i could afford it was because my mum passed away in march from breast cancer, and before she died she wanted to get me and my sister a good car each, that would last us for a long time. i chose the jimny and my sister got a min cooper 1.6. was originally gonna get a defender, but at that time all my quotes seemed to be rediculous, like 1500 on my dads policy, but now theyve gone down to like 700. so it seems a defender is on the cards. i have always wanted a defender. the jimny is a good car, its just too small for me, i admit im not a small person. but the main problem is boot space. you cant exactly fit a devon shovel in it, and posts for a fence, if you get my drift. cheers flash
