eddoakley
Just remembered this thread. Did the OP start flying? My 1st lesson was supposed to have been this week but got cancelled and is now rearranged for Monday. All advice seems to be that for me PPL is the way forward. It's still not completely clear but as I understand it I could do LAPL and then use the 30 hrs required for that towards the 45 for PPL but would end up spending slightly more that way due to the cost of the written tests and extra medical. Does anyone know for sure if that's the case? Edd

It’s that knowledge that if something does go wrong, you have to come down. 🙂 like my old boss said, he can swim a mile but not fly an inch. figgy
As I understand it 30 or 45 is the minimum requirements for each licence it could take you a lot more to pass, then you have inclement weather. Instrument and night flying all as separate parts to pass after the basic license. I would love to fly microlights but not enough time or money to do all hobbies. Shooting takes up most.
