Jimiles
I use an Optisan Viper 8 - 32x60 scope fitted with a 3" extension tube sun shade. I often find the image flares out with glare and I'm thinking of trying one of the honeycomb shades. Are they any good? Are they going to be better than a 3" extension tube? Ultrastu
I dont think they work . When i tried one it just made the image darker. Which i found unacceptable
Dougy
If this is from using a lamp the only remedy is to fix a strip of insulation tape over the bottom 1/4- 1/3 of the scope.
Rewulf
The idea of the honeycomb is to stop reflection from the front lens of the scope, thereby giving your position away. Your 3 inch sunshade should stop glare from the sun, unless it is virtually in front of you , or reflecting from something.
