Pedro
Went out on Tuesday with a mate from work at about 0900 on a local permission. I was hoping that they'd have started the rape, but no such luck, they'd only just started the barley. There wasn't much about as other fields locally had all been cut and that's where they were all headed. Anyway, went for a mooch up some hedgelines and ended up shooting a couple of pigeons and the rabbit, but not much else, so went back to the yard for a slurp. From here we could see a bit of movement up near an old shed and from past experience I knew that there was a sitty tree on a flight line - so thats where we headed. On the way I got a crossing pigeon and as I went to retrieve it saw the magpie coming down onto it, so got that too (I got another one later but couldn't find it in the long grass round the headland). We eventually sat up near this tree and I accounted for 20+ and my mate about the same, taking it in turns. It was a great end to what initially looked like an unpromising day. P.
