strimmer_13
Just bought a sxs and have no idea of the markings and was hoping others could help before i potentially put the wrong carts in Its a 's marco gardone' sxs hammer 12 bore. Its been re barreled by the looks of it, as they are like new and stamped 'english steel vickers - works- Sheffield. Im guessing it can take 70mm as the only number i can relevant is a '70'? Dont know why the photos keep going upside down very annoying

panoma1
I imagine 1,445 kg is the barrel weight, 70 is chamber length in mm and 18.3 is the bore diameter? 17.2 and 17.3.....choke constriction? could 20.8 be the chamber diameter? Fen tiger
its 70mm will be ok with typical game loads and normal steel regardless of what the chokes are . they are generally choked modified and full i had a 16 bore 25 years ago. 3 minutes ago, panoma1 said: I imagine 1,445 kg is the barrel weight, 70 is chamber length in mm and 18.3 is the bore diameter? 17.2 and 17.3.....choke constriction? corect it will be the barrel weight if it were the proff they were usually 900 kgs for game guns & magnums 1200kgs if i remember it right. I only use 7.5 28g on pigeons but my stock is 70mm. The only info i had was the chokes, stated cylinder and 1/4 so thought ideal hide gun. Just got to scratch these itchs, i wanted a 16bore but the price of this i couldnt refuse. Thanks for your help as always
