deadeye ive
Centre fire straight out the box factory ammo Tack driver Be patient John .........Alot is said on any forum about my rifle does this and that straight from new but the reality is far from that.Yep I'm sure there are one off's ............Agree with try before you adapt it to suit your needs but it's a mine field proving something is wrong when the only fault is the fact the rifle won't group . Best or should I say most consistant are the same hard to get hold of American Eagle or V-SHOK where your concerned so good luck in hoping she'll perform with some of the more available brands open to you

Sako7mm
that has to be a savage stock with a remington action in it . No, it's a Boyds stock. Several companies use it- Howa, Remington and Savage to my knowledge.
dunganick
that has to be a savage stock with a remington action in it . No, it's a Boyds stock. Several companies use it- Howa, Remington and Savage to my knowledge. almost there, if you search alot of the american stock making sites you will see they all share the same designs, mainly as they are popular and patterns are easily available, this is the case with this remington. i have a very similar stock from an american stock maker. nice stocks. alot of people say they get 1/4" accuracy out of the box with their guns. trust me its not always the case, ive seen enough new shooters and new guns to know that most people will have problems along the way, a good gun is simply one that has less problems than the others. my gun has been a real pain in the back side to get to shoot and its still not great. Truthfully a consistant 1" and if i concentrate maybe 1/2". However i could choose to describe this as a 1 hole group take what you read with a pinch of salt. dunganick
I'm not looking for 1/4", would love to have it mind you. If I got consistant, and that is the key word for me, 3/4" at 100 yards I'd be happy. A rifle that's capable out to 200-250 yards, reliable. The Tikka was not consistant, it was capable of either 3/8" or 5/8" groups (forget which) but was not consistant all other things (ammo, scope, shooter(s), conditions, cleaning, position etc.) being equal. was just posting that for the fella asking about accuracy, most of us know what our guns are trully capable of. Oly
I have a VLS, the thumhole can only be a bonus, you'll love it! Took mine out the other day (in .243Win), 4 shots literally through the same hole at 100yds, must have only increased the size of the original hole made by the first bullet by half a bullet width at most :( - straight out of the box condition.
