lazza
Went out for a spin around last night and came across this little fella. He was in the grass and playing hide n seek. It went like this....now you see him, now you don't......now you see him, now you don't.........now ,SQUEAK, BANG, GONE! When we went to pick him up, I was disappointed with the placement of the bullet, so I shall be putting a couple into some paper, just to check it. The entry wound was on the other side of the chest, but I think it struck a bit low. :( The gamekeeper was happy, even if I wasn't.

grasshopper
Well done Lazza :( Bullets can sometimes take a strange path, but not a bad idea to double check..at least that way your confidence will be up come the next shot. I like your attitude mate. i,m not content just to kill them..if it,s not a clean kill where i aimed,i,ll be back onto paper. keep up the good work GH

tikkamark
Well done Lazza Bullets can sometimes take a strange path, but not a bad idea to double check..at least that way your confidence will be up come the next shot. I like your attitude mate. i,m not content just to kill them..if it,s not a clean kill where i aimed,i,ll be back onto paper. keep up the good work GH i would be the same as yourself gh it would knock my confidence big time hitting a bit back at least when you check on paper your confidence will come back or at least it should But as gh said lazza you have a good attitude clean kills in the spot where you were aiming are the only job at least you have the sense to check out your gear fair play fella

Suffolk shooter
As somebody has said before bullets can deflect in weird ways on occassions, but no harm in checking. Still, I don't think that you would of had to worry about wounding and not an outright kill judging by that picture. Good result whatever, and I like your attitude that respect should be given at all times regardless of quarry. SS
stevethevanman
I have heard that good bullet placement is nessisary but sometimes they can die from the shear shock of being hit?, what ammo were you using and what range was he at? Steve What Pavman said Never any fun bellywhacking them especially if it's in a grown up area, they can go a nice bit and leave you wondering. Glad ya got him, well done, hope all is well on paper Hi steve , Bullet placement is important to me. I'd like to think I was striking where I was aiming, essential if it's a tricky shot. This fox didn't go anywhere, he dropped on the spot. At the moment I use Federal 55grn Noslers and he was approx 200yds. Hi john, I did check the gun and it was out. It's all ok now and I've had half a dozen since then.
