Two Holidays plus endless bbq's

You can only call yourself cuddly for so long and get away with it, i'm 12 & 1/2 stone now which isn't good for a 5'6". I've abused the hot weather to the max, leaveing no bbq till the last burger was gone. On top of that two holidays steeped with more bbq's and a constant flow of bitter.

I could always wait till the beating starts and lose a few pounds then, but the problem is not being able to fit into my clothes. I'm a bit of a designer label guy so it's not easy buying a new wardrobe.

I'm going public on this one in order to spur me on. I'm a firm beliver in eating what you want as long has it's in moderation, so the aim is total fitness. Going for the black sack treatment with two metods only, running and sit ups. I'll start with the length of wortly park and back which is 2 mile for 1 week, then 50 sit ups going up 10 a day. after week one i'll increase the run to 5 mile a day and keep going with the sit ups.

Wish me luck and every now and then make a point of asking what i've done. i'll be honest but the idea of public failiure isn't an option

Good luck chumpy!

It does you good to have little bit of what you fancy, but it gets harder to shift it as the years clock on.

I can't abuse my self the way I used to, as if to prove the point I was very restrained at the PW Bisley bash, especially as 'party food' is my weakness

I come from a family of fatties, so I just try to be a bit sensible rather than slamming it on (which would be very easy) and then trying to get rid of it.

Losing weight over the age of 40, is very hard work indeed.

I have had many blitzes on my weight over the years and found going to slimming classes really helped.

Not because of the diet rubbish they throw at you, but the "peer pressure" of the weekly weigh-in is great motivation.

Good luck, set yourself a sensible target and go for it.

Post your progress on here and everyone will insult you and poke fun at you, just to keep your spirits up.

hi decroyffe

good for you its a great way to get fit .and you will find that you will get addicted to it to .but if you have never done it before dont push youself to hard just do it in stages .and build it up

.make sure you have a good pair of trainers if running on hard surfaces. loose clothing and a good surport bra (sorry)and take water with you to .

i used to love running crosscountry was my favourite mind you bunnie holes were a ****** .but what ever the weather i was always up at 6 running across the open fields it always put you in a good mood for the rest of the day .i would still be running now if i had not hurt my foot though running on hard surfaces .and it took a whole year to heal (not nice ) but every now and and again i will just have a sprint manly when mucking about with the kids its a great feeling to feel like you lungs are fit to burst cant beat it . but please make sure you are eating properly no straving yourself otherwise you will literally run into trouble . so happy running wish i could join you xxx suzy
