hafod
Anyone here remember the burn rate of the old Nobel glasow 80 powder I seem to recall the late great David Garrard who i was in constant correspondence with back in the early eighties and was always very patient and forthcomming with help and advise to my constant barrage of questions that Nobel 80 had a burn rate that was simmlar to red dot or unique I can't remember which one now I.ve been given 5 sealed tins that are in perfect condition and I would like to try a little expermentaion and work up some loads using modern primers and wads I seem to recall my pet load for this powder back in the day was 24 grains of nobel 80 a mk3 plaswad and ounce and 1/8 of shot i seem to recall this load was a copy of the old eley Olympic trap load it smoked everything from fur to feather and was fantastic on the Clays as well

cardigun
It's a long time since I used the Nobel Powders for 12 bore cartridges. If I remember correctly, No 80 was for Standard 1 oz 1/16 loads, No 82 was for 1oz 1/8 loads, and No 78 was for 1 oz loads. Happy days. hawkfanz
i dont think theres much difference in the fibre wads, but plastic ones theres loads of different ones, but soon plaswads will dissapear forever.so you should get supplies of lead shot in to use up the no80. bavarianbrit
My grandfather worked through WW1 at that plant then he died in 1919 supposedly from the environmental conditions that he worked in there body was sent back to Newry for burial. Small world.
