sandspider
Mildew, spot, scab? A few brownish leaves but the tree seems generally healthy. Will the apples be worth eating?
Walker570
Looks like scab. Yes fine to eat. We have a James Grieve tree which produces huge amounts of fruit each year and most of them have similar 'scars' so just put them in the peeler/corer and out come perfectly good apple sections ready for the pie or toe be frozen for future use. Dougy
Difficult to get rid of, keep the ground clear of fallen leaves, use a winter wash that may also help. Its caused by air born spores so as you can imagine it can come from far away. Fungicides might be available to help out, but wont be recommended for fruit trees due to H&S these days.
