Walker570
Not quite as inventive as akka's very clever little lathe, I turned this one on my old metal lathe. A piece of yew and the end is filled with lead. This is a few years old now and has bonked a fair few trout on the head over the years. There is a certain satisfaction of seeing an itme appear on the lathe rom a relatively rough piece of wood. I still have the rolling pin I made at school in 1956 as part of my exam and I gave ti to me grandmother, then passed to my mother and now has come back to me. It is hoped that some of these fabulous items shown will have the same travels, they deserve it. Smokersmith
Nice work!! Changing gear slightly, I saw a couple of priests in an antiques shop advertised as ‘Bishops’ ... Anyone heard them called that before, or was someone on the sherry when labelling up?!

Is that where the phrase "bash the Bishop" comes from?😂
