kip270
Good shooting Frank, nice to see you still being able to get out and shoot, at least you haven't got to worry about cleaning it when you get home(ha ha) I am out this week after Fallow, just hope i get some luck, as the wood i shoot over is very thick, and it's hard going, but make's it all the better when i do bag one. I haven't shot this ground since April 2004

Frank
What ammo were you using in the 308? Hi Moses, You wanted to know the bullet load ect, here it is below, my freind text me back and said, this is deadly. He did say, the .308, can drop a good bit, so becarefull. The load ect below: 150 grain ballistic tip. 44 grains vihtavuori fast burning powder. 2500 feet per second. 2700 foot pounds. This seems to knock them dead. My mate lives in the north of Ireland, so can reload, as down here in the south, we still cant reload. All the best, Frank.

Frank
Cheers Grasshoper My mate had a look of disbalief alright . He said, he never seen them shot like that before. tikkamark
Thats one serious exit wound for an animal the size of a fallow that must have turned its heart to liquid The .308 looks the exact same as your old c.z?Is the recoil hard to handle?
Frank
Without the T8 Mark, the recoil can be felt, more than a .223, but with the mod, its like a Hornet, or even less, amazing bit of kit them mods. When gutted, the deers heart and lungs were pulverised , a total mess. , very humane. Frank.

Frank
Go For it LD. Just thought id mention it, while im at this. The rifle i used, was a Krico .308 bolt action. Its 20 odd years old, had many rounds down it and still doing the job. It was originally imported in from the UK. Frank.
