smokingdragon
hi guys Just bought a small box of Remington No2 2 3/4 42 grm load, a couple of the guys on the shoot were a bit worried that they may be a bit heavy on my AyA Yeoman SbS. The box says 1370 proof and the my barrels are 1370 proof. I haven't seen a fox to use them on yet but anyone reckon I'll have any problems with them? Cheers Simon
Ferret Master
I assume if your Yeoman is like my Dad's that it has 2 3/4'' chambers? FM

OldBill
It sounds very heavy for a 2 3/4" chamber. Personally I would change them for some 36g. They will spoil Charlie's day in up to a 3 at 25 yards and even smaller shot close up. At 1370 you are right at the edge.
mr smith
Eley also make a 42g 2 3/4" cartridge, don't know what the proof figure is for these though. IIRC the proof on my yeoman o/u is something like 1480gms or something like that. I was going to try and get some of these eley's but luckly someone gave me an oldish box of eley maximum BB's. I'll check their website after I've had my tea.(I'm currently being called) FM
Floating Chamber
42 grams is one and a half ounces. Considering the Eley 3" cartridge of the 1960s contained an eigth of an ounce less, these 42 gram shells may just kick violently in a light game gun. (Have you got a good dentist?) 36 grams is more than enough for that gun. IMHO, 42grams is a waste of good lead.
