figgy Posted October 2, 2020 Report Share Posted October 2, 2020 Husky Rich I can't remember the name of the work trousers I used to wear that had pockets accessed from the top with a short stitched cap over so debris didn't get in. Pig to get pads back in after washing them but worked better than the rest. Also had tool nail pockets that could be tucked in over the waistband when not needed. Best trousers I had for building construction type work. Aldi used to do them exactly as described because I'd cut off the tool/nail pouch bit as it wasn't required. Saltings Posted October 17, 2020 Report Share Posted October 17, 2020 i use a 25mm gardening foam pad or build up a high density foam pad yourself worst case foam carpet underlayers as shop bought knee pads always drift to one side or another uncomfortable as hell inc the ones built into work trousers are junk chuck a pad down kneel on it simple as a carpenter 40 yrs + on my knees doing skirting /oak floors / maple flooring / inc dance halls sprung maple floorings and laminates and others even a polystyrene sheet pad works better than bought knee pads i still have the old rubber knee pads now many years old 30 yrs + are junk a cardboard box folded works better my son works in a car body shop bought the trousers inc pads / uncortable a hell he bought the knee pads with straps and they are killing me dad help me my advise high density foam pad no dramas ( keep it simple ) even bubble wrap folded up into a kneeling pad with some packing tape works or fold up a cardboard box and tape it works i speak from experience the simple things work Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
