Smokersmith
Root 5 wickets for 8 runs. Tidy.
chrisjpainter
Well, that went quite well. If we can squeak to 200, this will be a hideous pitch to bat on. IF we can squeak 200...
Smokersmith
Best put the ballet shoes on and take everything before it pitches!

It can't spin if it can't pitch. Or go so far back you take the keeper's head off... anything in between and it's a minefield...This is going to be tortuous fun. EHK-312
I know its India and your expected to face extreme spin but surely these type of pitches don't help anyone ? India included in that. England would be torn apart for producing a green seamer back home and then you get this when you tour out there, just doesn't feel right to me. The Heron
Some of the balls from Axar totally unplayable.

Interestingly, Mark Ramprakash said on Channel 4 that he thinks they've prepared pitches that are too bad. We lost 4-0 the last time in India because there was a competition between bat and ball on every pitch and India batted better than us and bowled better than us every time. Now though it's too much of a lottery. It's half way through day 2 and no batter, with the possible exception of Crawley in the first innings as looked comfortable. England will feel if they can knock the deficit off without losing another wicket, then one solid partnership and they're in the driving seat. And just as I type that, Sibley goes for a bit heave-ho and is caught. Innings defeat, anyone?
Smokersmith
Just avoided the innings defeat... an hour of Ben and it’s game on. Conscious he’ll probably get out as I click ‘submit reply’ !
The Heron
68 for 7 Foakes and Leach with no batting to come.
chrisjpainter
Well this is a sorry state of affairs. Three little words: FIRST INNINGS RUNS. Even if we'd got a lamentable 190, we'd still have been favourites going into the 4th innings, despite the dire third innings.
