oscarsdad
Nice roe. I have seen evidence of roe but fallow definitely the dominant species on my land, a roe would be nice for the ease of extraction like mentioned.
alan123shooting
Some of the fallow have come from the neighbouring estate, some of which are white but they are big I have to get help from the keeper if I knock one over but at 06.30 on a Sunday morning I thought I leave them alone. I’ve Seen some nice Roe bucks for the coming season Edited March 14, 2021 by alan123shooting

alan123shooting
The estate had some forestry guy in last year to thin out the trees and blimey did they leave a mess, you have to drag over waste timber and they ******** up the tracks so can’t get a vehicle down them, so everything has to be manhandled out, but it keeps you fit

Every mole hill is a mountain when you are dragging a red!
Walker570
Yep, my friend and I shot three red hinds and a staggie near Carlby Linc's many moons ago. We actually turned one on its back and floated it down a narrow stream to where we could pull it within 25yrds of the motor. The other, we had to drag about 500yrds across plough. The problem was I only had my Ford Escort. We loaded two after a struggle and drove them to near Melton and the butcher , returning and fetching the staggie. That was some day.. My friend, was the late John Toon (FLO Leics) and those that knew him, would say I was lucky to have him along. Big lad. ex Grimsthorpe reds are very big animals. That trumps my Norfolk Red Stag which a friend and I loaded into my WIFE’S Audi A3, which I had to drive across three fields and a (fortunately) shallow ditch for extraction. One spot of blood on the carpet and she found it instantly.
