tikkamark
Hello lads and lassies im just back in from lamping solo this time,i tried a spot where i seen a fox while i was out shooting rabbits with the hmr earlier in the day. i did a lot of walking in that spot and seen three but they were all to far out and kept keeping a good gap between me and them the whole time they wernt lamp shy just bloody clever I was in there for about 2 and a half hours then the lamp started to die a bit so i had to shoot a rabbit for a mate of mine he wanted one to keep his magpie fed in his larsen trap so meat damage was not a prob(typical that he rang after i had given all the rabbits i had shot with the hmr away ) i seen a group of bunnys about 140yrds i fired at one and killed it the accu-tip entered its back traveled the length of its body and exited out the head taking it clean off I found two ears about a meter away with one rabbit in the bag i headed back to the car to get a fresh battery and went in to try some more fields i went over the first rise and seen nice shiney pair of eyes yet again way to far out i tryed getting closer to no avail getting a bit browned off at this stage i headed in further to see if there was anything else about but seen nothing i headed back to the car just in the field beside where i left the car is a nice big hill so i played the rabbit squeal on the electronic call that didnt attract any attention so i tried the hare squeal on the caller....bingo B) fox eyes come bouncing in but there in a field the far side of the road but the fox was very intent on coming in and crosses the road coming towards me but a strong wind is blowing my scent straight to the ****** just as she was about to hit my scent she stopped and looked...crack..thump great to get her after at least 4 hours of walking lugging a 20amp hr battery and 13lbs rifle around makes you really appreacate getting one accu-tip did its job brilliantly again entering its chest at an angle and exiting out the shoulder at 100yrds thats number 7 with the stiker lamp. tikkamark
were did you get your battery for the lamp from mate because i brought one of those lamps but it seems to flatten my battery in no time at all Its a fairly standard 20amp hour battery my mate works in a motor factors so he can get them very easy i think there out of a certain car battery booster pack im not 100% certain on that but it only set me back €50 and lasts me around 3 hours with that lamp
