That was a great success then........

We have being fed the line that the vaccine stops transmission (now known to be false) and that the vaccine stops the contraction of the virus (now known to be false) and so the last one which is a grey area to measure, is that the vaccine lessens the effects of the virus.

All the information i have seen has stated that the vaccines will not stop transmission, or people contraction the virus. Who was feeding the line that the vaccines will stop transmission or people contraction the virus, maybe i have missed it :hmm:

Correct; the information I have seen summarised as:

  • The vaccine will reduce the likelihood of getting Covid
  • The vaccine will reduce the severity of Covid including lessening the viral load and the time for which you are ill
  • Reduced viral load and shorter duration will reduce risk of transmission

It was about risk reduction.  No one ever claimed it would STOP transmission, stop contracting the virus.  It was stated the vaccines were (varies a bit from one vaccine to another and with age and general health of recipient) about 75 to 90% effective - but NOT 100% effective.

You are having a laugh arent you ?
What was the point then, just to stop clogging up hospitals?

When is a vaccine not a vaccine ? You have the jabs , boosters ect , and you still get ill, whats that all about ?
I mean , knock my tin foil hat off , but thats not really the definition of a vaccine is it ?
The way omicron has ripped through the population, the speed of which is unprecedented, whether you were vaccinated or not....

Ireland throws up some interesting facts https://www.irishtimes.com/news/health/q-a-why-do-we-have-so-many-coronavirus-infections-1.4769627 one of the most vaccinated countries in the world, with low population density, and they have one of the highest infection rates.
There are 1.2 million registered cases so far out of a total population of 5 million, school of thought on this is that, 2 - 4 times that have actually had the rona as most dont report it , or have no symptoms, but the majority of which were over the last year , when they started vaccinating.

So the uncomfortable truth , is that, if Ireland gets herd immunity , its more likely it got it from Seamus down the pub , than from Mr Pfizer down the health centre.

I think its pretty obvious its never been anywhere near 90 % , or 70 % , has it helped ? Yes

But nothing like how omicron has 'helped'

Yes that's the point, if the virus was not killing people and putting them in hospital there would be no need for a vaccine   :ermm:

Erm, I don't know if you noticed, but it still killed people and put them in hospital, it actually killed more people once we started vaccinating.

Literally any one who was vulnerable was jabbed, yet they still succumb to it?

Again, I'm not denying the jab helped, but in what context and level? Many countries with much lower vaccination rates fared far better for whatever reason?
