gdunc
The missus was looking at getting a coat for our young Cocker now that winter has arrived and I originally dimissed it as being, well, a bit gay. I then came across this picture of a FTCH wearing a coat and started to think that if it's acceptable in the competitive world of trialing then..... So I ask you lot as to whether I will bring into question our little girl's working, bold, gundog image by sticking a wee coat on her?? Dunkield
We have got an Equafleece ffor our JRT, as he jumps in river even when it is freezing. Slip in on when he gets back the car job done. No sitting there shivering feeling sorry for himself. Looks cooler than the ones in the picture, it doesn't have a hoody though

Piebob
Depends on your dogs coat but some spaniels seem to suffer from cold if/when they stop in winter and they are wet. Never seen a lab shiver though - unless it's in anticipation of a sarnie B) Edited to add: I'm talking about a days shooting/beating mind - not a jaunt down to the local park. That would be gay...... lurcherboy
A wet dog in the depths of winter will get cold when it's inactive. I use coats but only for the lurchers as the lab and cocker are used in the right place at the right time and will only require drying off at the end of the day. I get the feeling that some owners like to give the impression that their dogs are as hard as them B) LB
Mungler
In a word "Gay". If you have to go down the road of dog coats just don't get a pink one.
gdunc
I think if the missus got her way the dog would be in a coat every time she was out - which is definately out of the question and very gay. I'll look into the neoprene ones in anticipation of her being with me on a few shoots through the winter - even though she'll not be getting worked just yet. LEFTY478
Dog coat from Barbour etc may be ok, but deffo not the Prada, DKNY & D&G ones unless you're working under-cover as Hollywood Handbag Sniffer-dog handler, on the LA 'A' list party scene.
