wildfowler.250
Any suggestions welcome please. I’ve got an old browning maxus which is 10 years old and has had a fair number of shells through it,(so really no complaints). Recently it’s started only lightly hitting the shells and they’re not going off. Probably only about 1 in 30 with the rest being faultless and as usual if I reload these shells, they’ll fire no problem the second time. Is it likely I need a new firing pin etc? Or a cleaning issue? The gun is generally pretty well kept so I’m assuming something needs replaced but wanted to pick some brains before it goes into the shop. Cheers and have a good new year! The only way to know is to take it apart and clean it.
Gordon R
I would be removing the firing pin and cleaning out the part that it runs through. Degrease, blow out with compressed air and very, very lightly lube.
