WalkedUp
My wife and I had a running joke about our poor returns from the vegetable patch. This week chances were similarly thin on the ground on the shoot, my only shot was on a woodcock. It didn’t go far between three boys! I wouldn’t normally post pictures with their faces but this was so expressive of the meal and our final shoot day. Winkling every last bit out that we could. “Meagre Harvest” is a running joke for us, between the rabbits and boys nothing gets to grow to it’s fullest potential. Spr1985
The younger lad certainly looks like he enjoyed his feast!
mel b3
Just tell the lads that it's traditional to eat the feathers as well , as they're so filling 😄. Your youngest is definitely enjoying his grub 👍 .
Rob85
For a woodcock its a decent size! Its good to see things being absolutely picked bare. My kids seem to have picked up their mums aversion to eating meat with a bone still in it though 😕
WalkedUp
Look at this one that my friend shot on Saturday, a very chunky monkey. Lots of fat either side of the breast too. He browned it in a pan of hot butter with rub of garlic then roasted for 10 mins in the oven. Whilst it was resting he fried a thick slice of proper bread in the butter and juices, devouring the lot as a mid afternoon snack.
