Been looking out for a milling machine,

Been offered a couple of Chinese jobbys but  not really what I wanted 

Ended up with this 1950 ish centec, needs a good clean up & a vice,

complete with horizontal support & arbor,

Hello, that looks nice,  what sort of jobs will you be doing ? The ones we had in the old engineering shop co were from the 2nd war surplus stock from UK companies that no longer exist

Buying some gear when it comes up at the right money, 

Have a couple of old tractors & stationary engines which need some parts made, 

look forward to having a go myself rather than getting someone else to do it

They are cracking little milling machines, used one many years ago, well built and will do most jobs, does it have longitudinal power feed?

Lovely machine - makes all the new ones look flimsy. I have an old Colchester Bantam lathe of about the same vintage that still performs well.

My mill is Chinese - the best thing I've done is add the digital read-out, would be lost without it now.

Oiled & greased up today, ran up & all working well,

Will be looking at fitting a dro in the future, need to source a decent vice first, 

May I ask what vice is fitted to your mill

It's a 5" Vertex. I've had it 5 or more years, it's solid and square and does everything I need.
