Rob G
I recently had a T8 fitted to my 243,i read somewhere that a squirt of WD40 in them helps to prevent rust. How much do you put in.Enough to run out the end,or a light spray. And how often ? tulkyuk
Just a light spray / quick blast - every time you come in from shooting it

ROB Make sure you put gun grease on the threads of the rifle then thread the mod on to get a bit of grease on the mods threads otherwise they will rust on you making it a bit*h to thread the mod and will wear the threads out on both the gun and the moderator
P03
Following advice from a VERY good source I gave mine a really good squirt the first time and then let it drain for a week, then as Tulkyuk says a light spray after shooting BUT make sure that it is at ambient temperature before you spray and make sure there is no excess oil in the mod before you next use it. Rob G
Thanks for the advice,i have sprayed it and greased it.Does it alter the p.o.i for the first few shots.I know it needs checking after being removed from the gun but didn't know if the wd40 would make any difference until it was burnt out
tulkyuk
It should not change point of aim - make sure you dont spray too much down it Rob
steve_b_wales
I give mine a good blast with WD40, only if it's been out in the wet. The excess oil will dry off. I also put the T8 on the radiator if it's been out in really bad weather, and when it's dry, oil it. A good grease to use for the threads is Copper grease from Halfords. It's used on brake cylinders etc. I also use it on my shotgun chokes.

deadeye ive
Remember people .Take your mufflers off and inspect the said area described in the link below .WD40 cannot get to the expansion chamber unless it's submerged in the stuff. http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...st&p=382751
