Duckandswing
I was fishing with a couple of mates the other day and one of the lads produced a wasp slingshot. I’d not seen one of these since I had a black widow many many moons ago. My mate was singing the virtues of the slingshot and reckoned it was a great hunting tool. I have since viewed lots of videos on YouTube and for what it is it does seem reasonably impressive. Does anyone on here use these to regularly hunt with or for target practice? Centrepin
I was given one a while ago, forgot about it and found it again recently so bought a bag of 10mm marbles as ammo. Took it on the range when I was on my own and I'm now confident I can hit a 10' square target at 30 yards 8 times out of 10. Problem was that I was firing at a 10" target that still remains untouched.🤔🤣🤣

I know he uses them and headshot's squirrels at crazy distances. Edited October 3, 2022 by ninjaferret
Keith 66
I used to use one a lot. A standard folding black widow with magnum power bands, I had a workshop on a local farm & it was walk to work nearly every day with my old lurcher x, We got a lot of bunnies, squizzers & the odd pheasant. The trick is good consistent ammo & i used to use a cabelas 4 gang alloy ball mould in .410 cal, this would cast 4 rows of 4 balls so 16 in no time. It was easy to cast several hundred in half an hour or so. Lots of practice is also essential, I had a target at back of the yard with several layers of old carpet hung as a backstop, collect the balls under it for reuse. A lead ball that size is lethal. I was taught how to use a sling years ago, probably the oldest weapon of war ever. Quite possible to cast a hens egg sized rock several hundred yards. I could hit a house but anything small was quite safe if i was trying to hit it. Except for windows, everyone knows slingstones have a strange magnertic attraction for windows! Westley
Talking to a fellow angler recently who told me that acorns in his catapult were a suitable bird scarer for Cormorants !
