Having had decking, that is going to be very slippery in the wet and frost, especially with a bit of algal growth on it.

Aaahhh but,,,, that is at his daughter's house, and when he visits Harry will wear his nice grippy golf shoes 🙈😂🤣

Well the posts, handrails and brackets arrived today, I don't know why but I feel underwhelmed.  Hopefully it will look OK once assembled. That will be another learning curve,  I haven’t a clue 🤣🤣

Well the 1st thing to do is, lift bunnet with right hand, scratch heed with left hand, replace bunnet and have a brew and a hob-***. Simples!

Good idea 👍👍👍 I will take the wrapping off tomorrow and see if it becomes clear. Hopefully it will 😉😉😉

Did they not supply fixings ? Or a 'how to put together' leaflet ?

If they're missing, I find sometimes there's a pack of fixings tucked away in the packaging somewhere, usually in the end of a box for something else 😄

I'm going to "double check" the packaging tomorrow but I would have thought the handrails would have been drilled and tapped without external fixings.

No instructions unfortunately.

There should be fixings supplied, with instructions on diameter of drill bit to use. If you find nothing you could try looking on manufacturers website.

Handrail won't be pre-drilled as the fitter needs to do that to the post spacings on site 😉 Quite logical really 🙈😄

Edit,,,, just looked at the pictures again,,,, is the handrail round or does it have a flat 'seat' for it to sit on those 'flat' post tops ?

I can't imagine I'd have to drill stainless steel and tap it as well ???????

The handrails are made to measure as is the posts and the glass so it shouldn't be the fitters job.

The handrails are round, another reason for me not to try and drill. Have you tried drilling or cutting stainless steel 🤔

Yes I have and it's no fun !!! It looks like the handrail won't be compatible with those post tops ?

If you specified the length, height and sizes of all components, the supplier wouldn't know exactly where or the exact spacings of the posts, unless you've told them this (as an option) during the order ?

Also, how does the glass fit in with the posts ? Are there brackets to clamp to the posts/glass ?

The supplier has had all the measurements down to the last millimeter and also the spacings for the posts to fit the glass which was made to order.

Also, how does the glass fit in with the posts ? Are there brackets to clamp to the posts/glass ?

All the brackets are there to attach/clamp the glass it's just the top hand rail that I'm stumped with. I'm sure there is a simple explanation but I can't just wangle it out yet.

If all else fails I will ring them Monday to see how it works.

👍 Possible they've sent the incorrect handrail 🤔 Hope you get it sorted 😉

That's the only conclusion I can come to. There are 7 lengths which is correct but I think they have forgotten to drill and tap them all or they have not included the brackets. My money is on the latter.

What doesn't look right is in your 3rd picture of the posts etc. Round handrail with flat topped post top ?! 🤔 Something is wrong or missing 🤷

You are correct 😳 I rang them this morning and they told me I would have to drill and tap the stainless Steel handrail.  I expressed my displeasure strongly as I wasn't told this beforehand.  I was told it would be already to put together.

Not the news that I was expecting 🙄🙄
