Expiry dates

Do expiry dates mean anything these days on some food they will talking meat perishables but dry stuff could last for ever look at dried war rationing stuff anyway after a year off on the sick awaiting ill health retirement at work  i got my date the  last day of last year and i went in and cleared out my locker and working in security and doing shifts when nothing was open i had acquired a fair bit of dried food so i have been drinking cup a soups ,  pot noodles etc at lunch time till kids picked up they where out of date  still tasted fine too me but they where a year out of date

I often find out of date stuff at the back of my locker never had a problem with any of it tinned or dried.

In fact the wife often gives me short dated stuff for work.When she is checking the cupboards.

Yes i must of had 12 packets of cup a soup and worked threw 2020 , then 2021  and now nearly finished 2023  , same with those 3 in a packet coffee sachets ( milk , sugar and coffee ) I struggled to think that a large university that was  taking in students or guest had no food premises open after 9 pm . Best one was though i was booking somebody in and he asked where's the hotel ?. i said hotel your booked into student halls two sweary words and that was the last i saw of him

I knew of an India origin guy in Birmingham who collected all the out of date stuff from supermarkets and shops and sold them in his own shops. The last time I saw him he was driving a new Merc.   Ferretlurcher hit the nail, hope the nail wasn't out of date🤣
