I was about to mention that. Whatever is build, take care. It was Lloyd, it was one gentleman who sadly died with several others injured. THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
Scaffold board are longer & cheaper than sleepers plus easier to come by. Depending on required size, big pallet can be free
mattsccm
A little enhancement. If you have a step down as in that picture above with the dogs, put a landing pad down. Lots of feet bcoming down in one place will very soon make a deep boggy hole.
Walker570
Whatever, no short cuts and always go over the top with construction and materials. Over the years on many shoots I have come across the good the bad and the ugly. One shoot charging top dollar didn't even put bridges in for guns, scambling through hedge gaps down into ditches and crawling up the other side. Safe to say did not go back there. If it is a longish gap then scaffold poles driven in at an angle either side and then coachbolted to the pole or sleeper will help.
Jimbo yorks
Bridges should be done propperley and looked after/inspected each season before use. We used old telegraph poles bolted together then put some slats covered in wire over the stop to stop people slipping. Also no matter how small the shoot you should really have a risk assessment!
