rayo
I’m after a gun for the hide and roost shooting with 28 inch barrels I was going to buy a old browning or beretta as I just want something not to expensive so not bothered if I ding or scratch it . Then whilst browsing the net I stumbled across the ATA range and reading the reviews they seem a good buy at £600 so I’m off to check them out next week . Obviously won’t be as good as a a beretta or browning but Gilsan sports are offering a 3 year warranty on the ATA’s so I may throw my semi In against one
TIGHTCHOKE
Go to any local Gun Shop, they will have loads of budget guns that would be perfect for the hide, they are absolutely full of trade ins that they want rid of.

This. Nothing wrong with ATA as far as I’m aware, but there are thousands upon thousands of serviceable good quality guns just sitting in racks. Pops_Hants
I bought an ATA as a friends and family "have a go" gun. Cost me £200 and it's had probably 200 carts through it since I bought it. Seems pretty good gun by all standards. Glad I bought it as the first time my little brother used it he dinged the barrels, but no need to care when it's bought for exactly that. I would however take heed of other members advice, for £600 could probably get something much nicer that in a year or two you'd not lose money on. udderlyoffroad
"YATAT" - or Yet Another ATA Thread. 😂 Nowt wrong with them, had once since 2018. However, a word of caution on the black model, the 'black' on the action appears to be some kind of powder coat which scratches a bit too easily for my liking. No problem with the barrels, that appears to be similar to a cerakote-style harder coating. Maybe they've since fixed this, and you may not care if it's just a hide gun. I keep my ATA for our little DIY syndicate and use a ratty Franchi Semi in hides/rough, as well as a growing collection of er....budget SxS's from Holts!
