Deer with a Thermal really!

Ilegal in Scotland .... I (personaly) see it as bad form anywhere to be honest.
Stalking is all about using your fieldcraft/skill to get close...

I take your point, but night vision is legal for deer in most countries.

This particular herd is practically nocturnal, you'd struggle to fulfil the DMP with glass.

Wouldn't you consider using a thermal spotter outside Scotland?

Thermal spotters are OK, but any use of thermal or IR/digital scopes is illegal in Scotland (on deer) even in the daytime.

Well done i use the XQ 50  good scopes the argument for using Thermal to stalk  deer is the same for using thermal to shoot anything

Not at all because you can use Thermal to shoot Deer outside of the legal limits of daylight which don't apply to Foxes or Rabbits, one hour before sunrise and one hour after sunset. If you can't shoot Deer with a quality day scope but do with a Thermal then you are most likely outside of the legal limits.

Not at all you are correct about the times of shooting Deer. But  no different to shooting with a Day Night scope when the time has come and gone you can use  the Ir to carry on shooting same as Thermal

Worth noting that there are provisions in the legislation for night shooting deer in England and Wales. For example, I had a night shooting licence from Natural England for two areas in the last season.

What spotter you use?

The quality on the scope is class 👍🏻 is your spotter as good?

Axion 2 LRF XQ35 spotter, it's good, but image quality is more comparable with the XQ50 than the XP50 (used in the buck video) tbf:
