JDog
I gave up looking for pigeons on rape a month ago. There weren't any. Roost shooting was the best alternative. Without exception every pigeon shot was full of Ivy berries. A tiny weather window two weeks ago resulted in one farmer getting out drilling on the lightest (and poorest) land. Rain ever since prevented me from getting after them. Today on a jaunt I spied a line into old drillings. I had my kit with me - just in case. The walk almost finished me off but returning birds lifted my spirits and in an hour and a half I shot 30 pigeons all stuffed with oats.
