salisburykeeper
Hi all, im looking as many carts as possible, not after anything special but would prefer factory cartridges as opposed to home loaded ones , i am currently getting on top of a rat problem on a shooting estate and im getting through them at a rate of knots! so if you have any boxes of carts that you dont like using or no longer have a use for i would be happy to buy them. Mungler
Hmmmmm indeed. I reckon you can still find suppliers that are knocking out cheap non branded No. 6' carts for between £90 and £105 / thousand. In round numbers you would be looking at £25 for 250 carts. Assuming both barrels per rat that means 125 rats for £25 worth of carts. Now, do the math on posting a couple of pounds of lead cartridges through the post and all the legal issues with posting explosives and in circumstances where no one can see or inspect (1) you or (2) your SGC. On your way matey.

If you are shooting rats you will be able to recover the shot from the carcass due to their size and reload again PM if Interested?

Floating Chamber
12 gauge shells are a bit 'over the top' for rats - and costly too! I'd use a .410 2" loaded with 8 grains of Vectan A0 powder, a 'nana' plastic wad, (or my own stamped out card and fibre) and 9 grams of No. 8 shot (home-made) finished with a rolled turnover. Cost? About a quid or less a box and NO fancy press needed! Attached is a pic of of a partridge sketch on a USPS box. The shot was from a Webley & Scott b/a .410 at 25+ yards. Guest raymond1
this is the second post making the same request , in the other post , postage is offerd to be paid,.........well by the time postage has been paid to a courier service that is authorized to carry explosives ,paid for the cartridges ,it will work out more money than just buying carts from your local dealer ,..............AND I DONT THINK ANYONE IS SO STUPID AS TO PROVIDE A COMPLETE UNKNOWN STRANGER WITH LIVE AMMUNITION ,...................
