mad1
Hi all, I'm looking to ask the PW massive for some advice.. I have now come into possession of approx 300 zippo lighters! The guy who was my uncle collected them died about 10 year ago so I know they are not new. Any advice on where I can sell them onto as my aunt isn't wanting to keep them as she's down sizing. I'm aware you can age them from the dates on the bottom ?. Any advice as iv had a quick look and they are selling for £10 to 30 each so there's quite a value for her ? Iv said ill have any handwarmers if there is any in the collection. Thanks all in advance
Andy H
Just check any that are in Zippo boxes or tin's the special one's go for a lot more than £30-00 , Some for a grand plus also check any with a black crackle finish new or worn as they may be wwII and can fetch £300 +. oldypigeonpopper
Hello, I would try a decent Auction House, They would check out the each one maybe and if any of high value put up as 1 lot , 300 would make a tidy sum but there are as you know Auction costs
Dougy
https://www.zippo.co.uk/pages/date-codes This may give you a bit of help with valuing.

JohnfromUK
I'm guessing that somewhere there may be a (probably local/provincial) auction house that has specialist sales covering Zippo. Also guessing, but a 'key word' may be "smokiana". https://collection.sciencemuseumgroup.org.uk/objects/co157992/56-various-smokiana-accessory-cases-comprising-37-meerschaum-pipe-cases-accessory-cases Maybe look at a site like 'The Saleroom' to see which auction houses regularly advertise "smokiana"?
