Two hot days on the marsh

Some nice clear video footage , early season duck shooting is normally slow around these parts , with what seem like Summer weather extending throughout September you get some shooting the first day or so and then you rarely nowadays see anyone out for the rest of the month , the rain have finally got here after a bone dry longish spell where they have been taking hay down the marsh as the horses are eating the grass quicker than it can grow , for duck shooting around here it is like a three month season , November , December and January , how times change .    MM

Subscribed.  How do you like the suppressed shotgun?  Every once in a while I see a shotgun can in the stores but I have never seen anyone shoot with one.  In the Carolinas you see rifle suppressors everywhere but never shotgun.  Most stores don’t even sell them because nobody over here uses them.

Hi, I like the moderator most of all as I don't have to wear ear protection, I can't get on with wearing ear muffs normally and like to hear the ducks coming. The amplified electric ones have too much white noise to be useful so I end up turning them off. Ask me about the mod again at the end of the season. When I can see the thing im shooting at I can hit stuff with it, far better than the hush power cans. But I can't get to grips with it yet at night on the ducks. Im not lining something up properly. I need a few tide flights in daylight with it to evaluate it properly. But the noise reduction is great.  Thanks for subscribing by the way....I'll post up more films of the moderator soon...

The wigeon are nearly two weeks later than last year here. Slow to turn up. They are the main duck round here. A good year for mallard seemingly. I was contemplating not shooting any at all this year as their numbers here are a shadow of what they used to be.

Our Wigeon start showing up in August and from then onwards the numbers build up throughout the season which peak around Christmas time where the numbers can and very often reach into the 1000s double figures , geese are the same , they are already here in smallish numbers and the main lot would now be in N / Norfolk or will be arriving any day , these are the wildfowlers main quarry and the duck have a mainly easy time of things and if you know where to find them you can get some very good shooting . this don't normally happen till the livestock are taking off and then the marshes are left alone for the rest of the season ,

Thank you Greenshank, they were great times. I plan to shoot a few snipe over the GWP over the coming months.
