Old Boggy
Hi Kevin, Those chamber brush covers look absolutely fantastic so you have definitely perfected the art of making them. Also your latest brush handle in Zebrano looks great with the grain setting it off a treat. Thanks to you, Zebrano is now my favourite wood to turn and I’m pinching your idea where you made that bottle stopper stand for your daughter, as I’ve now abandoned the idea of using magnets for my cheese knife stands in lieu of a circular stand on the same lines as your bottle stopper stand. I greatly admire your achievements to date and your ability to always try something new and with it new problems to overcome. Keep them coming, OB

Keep them coming, OB Thanks Chris 👍 Yes, Zebrano wood does look good and very nice to work with. I did encounter problems with a piece I was using previously, and I had cut a few blanks to use for the handles, and had to scrap them. The handle in in the photo, was from a different piece of wood I purchased, and worked perfectly, and didn’t disappoint, and have a few more to turn from the same batch 🤞

Cheers, Keith I’m very pleased with how they’re looking now 👍 I spent this morning in the shed and turned the brass threaded stems, for future chamber brush handles. I froze my nuts off, but I wanted to finish them. They are definitely getting easier to turn, and I now have an order of sequence, in the way they are turned. I am waiting on brass tube, so I can make a few 20 bore brush covers this week. The 5 brass stems I made today, will be fitted on Zebrano wood handles, and I completed a handle a bit later this afternoon, and it is stunning with the grain pattern, and fitted a brass domed stud into the rear of the handle, and sets it off nicely. BobbyH
I’m the happy recipient of the zebrano wood chamber brush from him, and mate….its brilliant! Top notch workmanship, and it feels like it should be in everyone’s cleaning kit! Used it today properly to clean my guns, and it’s perfect for chambers (obviously) and also perfect for cleaning chokes too!
