Morrisons stock it, ready made, in tins.

We occasionally have it with hot smoked sausage, sauerkraut and mashed potato.

Tins…..tins 🤦🏻‍♂️

Nothing better than home made.

Quick way, dissolve a ham stock cube and add salt and yellow split peas.

Bung it in the oven, keep stirring it taking care to keep topping the liquid up.

It needs to be quite loose when cooked (hot) and it will stiffen as it cools.

Longer way

Boil a ham hock, use the liquid as above and add some of the ham to the mixture

Heaven

Sure, I've made it the long way too, with ham stock and yellow split peas and bunged into the slow cooker, but, as always, tins are a convenience and when the pease pudding is melded into the sauerkraut, tastes the same.
