I had Scallops the other week , I no doubt done them wrong as they were nothing to write home about , a thick middle piece of Cod I do like , before they changed hands we used to get fish and chips in Southwold , the batter was nearly burnt and the fish meat was as fresh as you could get , then they changed hands and it was never the same again , now waiting for my fish and chips that is now in the oven .  MM

Ah , mine were the real thing , I believe mine had a  batter like coating on them and they looked a bit like Scampi , might had even done them in the deep fry but I can't hardly remember what I had for breakfast let alone two or three weeks ago    MM

Now I'm liking the look of that very much.

Was the batter nice and crispy ?, and how was the fish with no batter ?.

I think that plate needed something green .  I reckon mushy peas would have been perfect 👌
